What do I use for my dogs rash from a collar grown into her skin?
I found a dog who had her collar on her when I found her. I'm guessing the collar was on there for a long time because it was almost grown into her skin. I took her to the vet and they got it off and gave me medicine for the rash. The rash starts right below her jaw and on down to her chest, she has no hair there and it gives off a bad odor. The medicine was working for a while but she keeps scratching it and I don't know how to stop her. I've been using neosporin cause that's what the vet told me to use when I ran out of the medicine. I've tried wrapping bandages around her neck but they keep coming off. People have suggested cones but most cones are attached from their neck and I'm afraid that will hurt her neck. Is there anything else that would work? Or are there any other medicines I could use that are safe for my dog?

Call the Vet. It may take awhile for the infection and smell to go. The smell is a fungal infection. Ask the Vet for Nystat powder..it is for rashes like your dogs. Just try to keep the dog from scratching it too much. Poor dog.
