why do people always rip on tkd?

people always says it sucks,the kicks are useless and its 99%kicks well it isn`t all people believe is what the media says yes i have seen all those videos were tkd dudes get the shit beat out of them.mainly cause those guys dont use there hands for shit.all these mcdojo have made a bad name for tkd.people say if i use my hands its not tkd its boxing well it isnt boxing its tkd.in my tkd class we practice on on striking the windpipe with your fore arm cardio/warmup drills.weapons training ,grappling(bjj)on fridays mainly because our teacher knows the importance of groundgame.tkd dude and punch just as better as a karate man too :

People who rip on TKD don't know martial arts as well as they think. If taught and done well, it's as good as any other martial art.

As for mixing grappling into your TDK practice, good for you. No one art has all of the answers so it helps to get some outside experiences.

However TKD does have a somewhat deserved reputation for having more than it's fair share of McDojangs. It has something to do with a specific organization And That's All I'll say about that.
