Realistic Goal Setting Is The Key To Success In Martial Arts
Training and improving one's martial arts skills is continuous cycle.. As a novice, it may seem overwhelming and you may feel like you’re never going to understand, but this is quite untrue if you show persistence, dedication and make the right kinds of goals. When you begin training in Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu jitsu, you should set clear and reachable goals for yourself.
When setting goals for yourself, you need to take into account a multitude of factors.. For example, if you say your goal is to compete in jiu jitsu in the upcoming World Championships, and you can only train two to three times a week, you most likely will not be happy with your results. You can go to the Worlds, but you will definitely not be prepared. The serious competitors at my Columbia Martial Arts center are training at least five times a week, doing circuit training, and drilling. If you want world-class results at a world-class event, then you need to be in a world-class training regimen.. It is not fair to yourself to set goals for which your work ethic is not comparable.
Realism is a fundamental and often underrated characteristics of successful goal-setters.. If your goal is just to go and compete, then your training routine is fine; but if your goal is to WIN - then your goal - behavior congruence is off.. You have to look at the factors of your life and decide what is right for you. A local tournament like a NAGA or Grapplers Quest might be a more feasible goal for an individual who is only training 2-3 times a week..
One's life outside of martial arts must be considered when planning one's goals.. For example, you may have picked up martial arts because you wanted to get in shape and lose weight. If you come to class and train hard, then go home and very poorly, again, you will not be happy with your results and may not reach your goals. Getting in shape and losing weight is more than just doing physical activity of some kind a few times a week. You need to eat properly in addition to your training. It is important for new martial arts practitioners to make goals for themselves so they prevent themselves from becoming discouraged. The coaches at my Columbia Jiu Jitsu school always told us that for the first three months of training in Brazilian jiu jitsu, you will be lost so dont' get discouraged.
So, to stay strong mentally, make reachable goals for yourself and follow through with them. Reaching each goal will give you self-confidence and the foundation to set another higher goal later..
Where can I watch the Thai Martial Arts movie "Chocolat" online?
It is a Thai movie and I would like it to be free, without surveys or download, and please don't say "buy it" or "that's illegal" cause I don't care.
!WITHOUT!: downloading, surveys, nothing about movshare!, or anything like that!
I can deal with it being in parts, but keep them on the same site, please!!!!! Thank you!!!
The Martial Arts movie is actually "Chocolate" from 2008. Without the 'e' will give you the Johnny Depp version from 2000.
It's well worth watching, I saw it last year. That girl has some serious moves.
http://www.graboidl.com has it, but there is a download. Quality is excellent. Storyline in the movie is lacking a bit, but the action more than makes up for it.
