how do I make my homemade punchbag heavier?

Hi, i got a large roll of old carpet, and rolled it up and taped it. It's pretty heavy!

But i'd like it heavyer, there's a 2 inch cylinderacle hole on the inside of the roll which i think will be a good place to add extra weight.

But what, and how shall i put in it? and how will i keep in inside without it simple falling out the bottom :s?

IDEAS!!!

You could get some kind of tough material like a tarp. Fold it in half if its big enough and pour sand onto it. then pick the sides up to make it like a sack and find a way to secure the edges together and and then adjust it so it fits into the middle of the carpet.
And then you'll have to figure out how to hold it up.
